Last Shot on the roll ! - A pre digital photography joke. A nod to film days, and farewell Kodak Part of a friendly summer competition with a goup of photographers. The theme is a photography based joke, pun or double meaning. Not the greatest composition I'll admit, but quite tricky to take single handedly - so to speak!

In-furiated - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)

Sometimes when a PC blows up you get a "Blue Screen of Death". Here the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on the PC is reflected in my eye. This is not a Photoshop job, it is a real photo. To be fair I think Photoshop would clearly be the best way to produce such an image - but I fancied a technical challenge and headache - which I literally got! This was a very hard shot for me - low light so high ISO and noise, low depth of field at f2.8 and very hard to keep still whilst using live view shooting on a second monitor (tilted away to avoid additional reflections) to establish the focus. Even moving my eye between monitors changed the focus. PS - I did not deliberately blow up my PC to take this but put a photo of a BSOD on my main monitor. 1/13th @ f2.8, ISO 1250 Canon EOS 5DII, Gorilla Pod, Canon 100mm F2.8L Macro Lens, USB Cable, Canon Remote Shoot Software, Lightroom. The Underpass

I like the grimey urban feel of this shot and the slight sense of menace you sometimes get in these underground spaces. Deliberately processed to look hard and harsh. Remote triggered and tricky to stand still for 20 seconds.

Time Out

I loaded a manually created pure blue jpg onto my TV and knelt in front of it. My left hand was holding the guitar and cigarette lighter, my right hand was actually taking the shot using the Cannon remote app on my Samsung tablet wi-fi linked to my Canon 5D IV on a tripod. I could see what I was shooting on my tablet. If you have a camera with ability to remote link from a tablet then I highly recommend you explore this for still life type shots - composition is so much easier on a larger display.
